The Detail

Tough Pot Scrubber, Three Pack

A palm-sized beechwood scrubber with stiff plant fibre bristles, for baked-on pans, grill grime and the countertop stain you have been ignoring. Three of them, so there is a dry one at the sink, one by the barbecue, and one waiting its turn. Seed & Sprout call this a Refill Pack, which means a restock rather than replacement heads: each scrubber is complete in itself.

Key Features
  • Set of three complete Tough Pot Scrubbers.
  • Beechwood body with an integral knob handle that sits in the palm.
  • Stiff, compostable plant fibre bristles. Tough on residue, non-scratch on cookware.
  • No plastic anywhere, so nothing sheds into the sink.
  • Fully compostable at end of life.
Pure Standard
  • This is the plastic problem people forget about. A standard nylon-bristled scourer sheds microplastic every time you use it, straight down the drain. Beechwood and plant fibre do the same job and shed sawdust. It is one of the easiest swaps in the house and one of the most overlooked.
  • Genuinely compostable, not just recyclable-in-theory. Wood and plant fibre with no synthetic backing or glue-in bristle plate means the whole thing goes in the compost when it wears out.
  • Stiff enough to actually work. The failure mode for natural scrubbers is going soft and useless in week two. The Tough is the firmer of Seed & Sprout's two pot scrubbers, and it is the one to buy if you cook on cast iron or stainless.
  • Three is the right number. Natural bristle lasts longest when it dries out fully between uses, and rotating three means each one gets that chance. Buying the pack is cheaper per scrubber than buying singles.
  • Where we would like more. Seed & Sprout do not disclose the country of manufacture anywhere across their range, and they do not name the specific plant fibre used in the Tough version. Their standard Pot Scrubber is sisal; this one is described only as plant fibre.

Care Instructions
  • Rinse after use and stand bristles-down or hang so water drains out of the wood.
  • Let it dry fully between uses. Damp wood is what shortens the life of a natural brush.
  • For a deeper clean, soak in distilled white vinegar, then rinse and dry.
  • Do not put it in the dishwasher or leave it sitting in the sink.
  • Compost it at end of life.

Our Take

Three beechwood pot scrubbers with bristles stiff enough to earn the name Tough. No plastic, so nothing sheds into your sink, and the whole thing composts when it wears out. Keep one at the sink, one by the barbecue, and one drying. Scrub, compost, repeat.

Frequently asked

Are these replacement heads or complete scrubbers?

Complete scrubbers. Seed & Sprout call this a Refill Pack, but they mean a restock rather than replacement heads. Each of the three has its own beechwood handle and there is nothing to attach them to.

How many are in the pack?

Three, all the Tough version.

What are they made from?

Turned beechwood with stiff natural plant fibre bristles. No plastic and no synthetic backing, so the whole scrubber can be composted at the end of its life.

Will they scratch my pans?

No. The fibres are firm enough for baked-on residue but non-scratch on cookware, including cast iron and stainless steel.

What is the difference between the Tough and the standard Pot Scrubber?

The Tough has firmer bristles and is the one to choose for grill grime, cast iron and stubborn baked-on food. The standard Pot Scrubber uses softer sisal fibre.

How do I make them last?

Rinse after use and stand them bristles-down so water drains out of the wood, and let each one dry fully between uses. That is the main reason the pack comes in threes. Soak in white vinegar for a deeper clean, and keep them out of the dishwasher.

Where are they made?

Seed & Sprout do not disclose the country of manufacture, on this product or anywhere across their range.
