Pet Safe
Cleaning and home products you can use around animals.
The Pet Safe Edit
Every product here carries a pet-safe claim from the maker, not our inference from an ingredient list. Two of the plant products are independently verified by the Animal Poisons Centre of Australia, which is rare and worth knowing.
Why is this list so short? Because most natural cleaning products use essential oils, and many of those are genuinely risky for animals, especially cats. Tea tree, eucalyptus, citrus and pine all process poorly in cats. We would rather show you ten products we can stand behind than fifty we cannot.
Does pet safe mean I can use it on my pet? No. It means safe to use in a home with animals, as directed. Only the products specifically sold as pet wash go on an animal, and even then check the species.
What about birds? Birds are more sensitive again, particularly to anything airborne. Avoid diffusers, aerosols and strongly scented sprays entirely in a room with a bird.

Common questions
What makes a cleaning product pet safe?
Pet safe products avoid ingredients known to be harmful to cats and dogs, and skip strong essential oils like tea tree, clove and pine that can be an issue for pets, especially cats. Every product in this collection has been chosen with pet households in mind and rated against our Pūrē Standard.
Are essential oil cleaners safe around cats and dogs?
It depends on the oil. Some essential oils are fine in well ventilated spaces while others, particularly tea tree and clove, warrant real caution around pets. We flag this honestly on individual products, and this collection filters to the gentler options.
Do you stock pet wash and grooming products?
Yes. We stock gentle, plant based pet washes and dog shampoos formulated to cleanse without stripping natural coat oils, using simple, disclosed ingredient lists. You will find them within this collection and the Pets range.
How should I use cleaning products safely around pets?
Let sprayed surfaces dry fully before pets access them, keep areas ventilated, rinse food and water bowls well, and always store products out of reach. Choosing genuinely low tox formulas reduces the risk from paws and licking.
Are pet safe products also better for my family?
Generally yes. Products gentle enough for pets tend to be lower in harsh chemicals and fumes overall, which benefits children and sensitive people in the home too. Many overlap with our Kids and Pregnancy Safe range.
