Bondi Wash's best-seller, and the one to start with. Australian botanical essential oils do the cleaning and the scenting at once: crisp lemon tea tree and mandarin, reminiscent of bright eucalypt forest, on benches, bathrooms, and even fabric and furniture marks. It is concentrated enough that one bottle gives around 2,000 sprays, and mild enough to use where food is prepared.

Key Features
  • 99%+ plant-derived ingredients. The balance is a food-grade preservative.
  • It kills 99.9% of germs. Bondi Wash state it is independently laboratory tested.
  • Works on most surfaces. Including leather, marble, Caesarstone, wood and fabric.
  • Safe around food, children and pets. Stated by the brand.
  • Nothing on the usual list. Free from bleach, harsh synthetic additives and synthetic fragrance.
  • Up to 2,000 sprays. Equivalent to about four standard spray bottles.
  • Made in Australia. With Australian bush oils.
Pūrē Standard
  • The ingredient list is fully named, allergens included. Bondi Wash publish the preservatives by name, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate, and declare the four fragrance allergens that occur naturally in the oils. Most cleaning brands hide behind the word fragrance. This is the single best reason to trust the rest of the label.
  • Lemon tea tree is not tea tree. This is Leptospermum petersonii, a botanically different plant from the Melaleuca alternifolia in conventional tea tree oil. Worth knowing if you have pets, because it is a genuinely different oil, and Bondi Wash state the spray is safe to use around food, children and pets.
  • Concentrated, so the bottle is not mostly water and freight. Around 2,000 sprays per bottle, roughly four standard sprays' worth. Fewer bottles bought, fewer bottles shipped.
  • Made in Australia with Australian bush oils. And the brand says so plainly rather than leaving origin to be guessed at.
  • Where we would like more. The bottle is a plastic trigger spray and Bondi Wash do not currently offer a consumer refill for the bench spray, only a hospitality bulk bundle. For a product this good, a 1L refill would be the obvious next step, and it is the only reason Packaging does not score higher.

Our Take

A hero for a reason: lemon tea tree and mandarin doing the cleaning and the scenting at once, and mild enough for the bench you make sandwiches on. If you buy one Bondi Wash product, make it this.

Good to know

Frequently asked

What surfaces can I use it on?

Most of them. Bondi Wash have successfully cleaned leather, marble, Caesarstone, wood and fabric with it. Test an inconspicuous area first if you are unsure, and rinse or wipe down with water after use on food-contact surfaces.

Does it actually kill germs?

Bondi Wash state it is independently laboratory tested to kill 99.9% of germs naturally. They do not publish the test method or the laboratory, so we are passing on their claim rather than verifying it ourselves.

Is lemon tea tree the same as tea tree?

No. Lemon tea tree is Leptospermum petersonii, a botanically different plant from Melaleuca alternifolia, the source of conventional tea tree oil. Worth knowing if you have pets. Bondi Wash state the spray is safe to use around food, children and pets.

How long does a bottle last?

Up to 2,000 sprays. The formula is concentrated, so one bottle does the work of roughly four standard multi-purpose sprays.

Are there any fragrance allergens?

Yes, and Bondi Wash declare them: citral, geraniol, limonene and linalool. These occur naturally in citrus and botanical essential oils. If you are sensitive to fragrance, check that list before buying.

Can I get a refill?

Not currently for the bench spray. Bondi Wash offer a hospitality bulk bundle but no consumer refill in this format, which is the main reason we have not scored its packaging higher.

Why does my bottle look or smell slightly different from the last one?

Bondi Wash note that colour, appearance and scent can vary between batches, which is normal for naturally derived ingredients.
