Wash up without getting your hands wet, which is the whole appeal if your skin objects to detergent. A durable silicone body with a built-in pump button and a water-tight screw lid: fill it once with dish wash and pump straight onto the scourer as you go. When the head wears out you replace the head, not the tool.
Which One Do I Need?
- Dish Stick. The complete tool: silicone handle, built-in pump and one scourer head. Start here.
- Refill, pack of 3. Replacement scourer heads for the handle you already own, in a reusable mesh bag for storage and drying.
Key Features
- Durable silicone body. Built to last rather than be replaced each season.
- Built-in pump button. With a water-tight screw lid, so it fills easily and does not leak.
- Heads slip on and off. And are interchangeable with the brush head refills.
- Non-scratch. A medium-strength scourer.
- Not just dishes. It also works on bathroom tiles and grout with the brush head option.
- Heads are kerbside recyclable. Stated by the brand.
- 22cm long, 5.5cm head. Designed in Australia, made in China.
Pūrē Standard
- You replace the head, not the tool. A worn scourer usually means a whole new wand in the bin. Here the handle, pump and lid stay, and a three-pack of replacement heads keeps it going. That is the difference between a durable object and a disposable one.
- Hands out of the water. Detergent on skin is the most common cause of dishpan hands and a real problem for eczema-prone households. A pump wand is the simplest fix, and it uses less soap than squirting it into a full sink.
- Silicone, not plastic, for the body. It will not craze or go brittle the way a moulded plastic handle does, and it takes hot water without complaint.
- Honest about origin. Designed in Australia, made in China, stated plainly.
- Where we would like more. Barkly Basics do not publish what the scourer head is made from, which is why this does not carry our Plastic Free tag even though the heads are kerbside recyclable.

Our Take
A dish wand with the soap inside it, so you wash up without putting your hands in the water. When the scourer wears out you swap the head rather than binning the whole thing.

Frequently asked
Which should I buy?
Start with the Dish Stick, which is the complete tool: silicone handle, built-in pump and a scourer head. The Refill is a 3-pack of replacement heads for a handle you already own, and comes in a reusable mesh bag.
How does it work?
Fill the silicone body with dish wash through the water-tight screw lid, then press the built-in pump button to release soap straight onto the scourer as you wash. Your hands stay out of the water.
How do I fill it properly?
Use 8 to 10 pumps of dish wash, diluted with a little water. Store it horizontally so it does not leak, sanitise the head regularly, and do not leave detergent sitting in it for long periods.
Can I use it anywhere other than the kitchen?
Yes. With the interchangeable brush head option it is very good on bathroom tiles and grout. The heads are also interchangeable with the brush head refills.
Is it plastic free?
The body is silicone rather than plastic, but Barkly Basics do not publish what the scourer head is made from, so we have not tagged it Plastic Free. The heads are kerbside recyclable.
Is there anything it should not be used on?
It is a non-scratch medium-strength scourer, but it is not recommended for fine china or delicate cutlery.
