The Detail

Floor Wash in Lemon Tea Tree & Mandarin

A highly concentrated, plant-derived floor wash that doubles as a multipurpose cleaner on any surface. A single capful in a bucket does a whole floor, and 500ml lasts an average of 80 washes. Scented with Australian bush oils, so the room smells like the rest of the Bondi Wash range rather than like cleaning product.

Key Features
  • Highly concentrated: 500ml lasts an average of 80 washes.
  • 99%+ plant-derived ingredients. The remaining 1% is food-grade preservative to keep it shelf-stable.
  • Safe for all floor types, including timber and hybrid floors.
  • Also works as a multipurpose cleaner on any surface, or neat on a wet sponge for spot cleaning.
  • Gentle, non-toxic formulation that Bondi Wash describe as safe to use around babies and pets.
  • Free from sulphates, parabens and synthetic fragrance.
  • Made in Australia with Australian bush oils. 500ml.
Pure Standard
  • Lemon tea tree is not tea tree, and the difference matters. This uses lemon tea tree, botanically Leptospermum petersonii, which is a different plant from true tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia). That is why Bondi Wash can describe this as safe around babies and pets when a true tea tree product would not be. It is one of the most commonly confused pairs in low-tox cleaning.
  • The concentration is the whole value. A capful per bucket, 80 washes from a 500ml bottle. Compare that to a supermarket floor cleaner before deciding this is expensive, and note it also means far less packaging and freight per clean floor.
  • Under 5% surfactant. Bondi Wash publish the concentration band, and it is low. Most of what is in the bottle is water and citric acid, which is exactly what you want on sealed timber where residue and film are the real enemies.
  • Honest about the 1%. Rather than claiming 100% natural, they say 99%+ plant-derived and tell you the remainder is food-grade preservative keeping the product shelf-stable. That is a more useful sentence than a rounded-up number.
  • It genuinely is multipurpose. Bondi Wash sanction it on any surface, and neat on a sponge for spot cleaning, which is why it carries every room tag rather than just floors.
  • Where it loses marks. A 500ml plastic bottle with no refill in our range, though Bondi Wash do make a 5L for anyone wanting to decant.

Our Take

Floors that come up clean without the residue or the fumes. A capful in a bucket is all it takes and one bottle does around 80 washes, which makes the price look very different once you do the maths. Lemon tea tree is a different plant to true tea tree, which is why Bondi Wash can call this gentle around babies and pets. Safe on timber and hybrid floors, doubles as a multipurpose spray, and leaves the whole room smelling like the rest of the range. A quiet favourite.

Frequently asked

Can I use it on any surface?

Yes. Bondi Wash list it as suitable for all floor types including timber and hybrid floors, and as a multipurpose cleaner on any surface. You can also use it neat on a wet sponge for spot cleaning. Test an inconspicuous area first.

How much do I use, and how long does it last?

One capful into a bucket as it fills with warm water. A 500ml bottle lasts an average of 80 washes, and no rinsing is needed.

Is lemon tea tree the same as tea tree?

No, and this is worth knowing. Lemon tea tree is Leptospermum petersonii, a different plant from true tea tree, which is Melaleuca alternifolia. That is why Bondi Wash describe this formulation as gentle enough to use around babies and pets, where a true tea tree product would not be.

What is in it?

Purified water, under 5% plant-derived non-ionic surfactants, citric acid, Australian bush oils, essential oils and food-grade preservatives, plus the naturally occurring allergens limonene, citral, linalool and citronellol that come with real essential oils. It is 99%+ plant derived, with the remaining 1% being the food-grade preservative that keeps it shelf-stable.

Will it leave a film on timber?

It should not. The surfactant load is under 5% and most of the bottle is water and citric acid, which is what you want on sealed timber where residue is the usual problem.

What does it smell like?

Lemon Tea Tree and Mandarin, Bondi Wash's scent no. 03. Zesty and citrus-led, from Australian bush oils rather than synthetic fragrance.
