- OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 is the specific one you want. Not a general eco badge: it means every component, thread and dye included, has been tested for harmful substances. On something you wrap around a wet body daily, that is the claim that matters.
- 550GSM is a real weight. Supermarket towels sit around 400GSM and feel thin within a year. 550 is plush without being so heavy that it never dries, which is the balance you actually want on a rail.
- 100% cotton, not a blend. Polyester blends repel water, which is precisely the opposite of a towel's job. Pure cotton also sheds no plastic microfibres in the wash.
- A set that coordinates, in a colour that is not beige. Four matching pieces is the easiest way to make a bathroom look considered without renovating it.
