- The most thoroughly dosed product we sell. Ten millilitres for a front loader, twenty for a top loader, five per four litres for a soak of up to eight hours, thirty per four litres for grout with fifteen minutes to sit. Hydrogen peroxide as the active, working in cold water, with the fabrics it is not for named outright. Whitening instructions this specific are rare, and they are the difference between an even result and a lighter patch.
- Peroxide rather than chlorine, and that matters for more than the smell. Chlorine bleach produces fumes that irritate airways, damages fibres over time and reacts badly with other cleaners. Hydrogen peroxide breaks down to water and oxygen. If anyone in the house has asthma, this is the swap worth making first.
- Genuinely fragrance free. Not "unscented" via a masking agent, which is the usual trick. There is no fragrance in it at all, which is why it is one of the few Koala Eco products we would put in front of someone sensitive to scent.
- The full ingredient list is published, with each function named. Six ingredients, each labelled for what it does. That is more than almost any bleach on a supermarket shelf offers.
- Working in cold water is a real saving. Heating the water is where nearly all of a wash cycle's energy goes, and most whitening products want it hot.
- Where we would like more, honestly. This contains tetrasodium EDTA, a chelating agent that binds hard-water minerals so the peroxide can work. It is effective, but it biodegrades poorly compared with the plant-derived surfactants elsewhere in the Koala Eco range, and it is the main reason this scores lower than the rest. Koala Eco also do not state a country of manufacture for this product, unlike their soaps and washes.

How to Use
- Laundry. Pour into the empty drum first, then add the laundry. Use 10ml (about two capfuls) for a front loader, or 20ml for a top loader.
- Stain removal or pre-soak. 5ml (one capful) per 4 litres of water in a bucket or sink. Submerge the whole item, not just the stained part, and soak for as long as you can, ideally up to eight hours.
- Grout, tiles, shower walls and hard surfaces. About 30ml (six capfuls) in 4 litres of warm water. Wipe on, leave 15 minutes, then rinse well with clean water.
- Not suitable for silk, wool or leather. Or for items with metal or wooden buttons.
- Submerge the whole garment when soaking. Treating only the stain can leave a lighter patch.
- Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not swallow.
