The Detail

Set of 2 napkins.

Mesa Collections Napkins

Cloth napkins in 70% eco cotton and 30% French flax linen, each edged with a contrasting trim. The cotton gives them enough body to hold a fold, the linen gives them the soft, slightly crumpled fall that stops a set table looking stiff. Six colourways, from an understated olive with cream to a lime with royal blue that is having considerably more fun.

Key Features
  • Set of 2 matching napkins.
  • 70% eco cotton, 30% French flax linen.
  • Contrasting trim on every colourway.
  • Natural fibres throughout, no synthetics.
  • Washable and reusable, for everyday or entertaining.
Pure Standard
  • The cloth napkin is the original reusable. A pair of these replaces hundreds of paper napkins over their life, and unlike most single-use alternatives there is no trade-off in how they perform. They are simply better at the job.
  • Natural fibres, and a deliberate blend. 70% cotton for softness and absorbency, 30% French flax linen for structure and the texture linen keeps after washing. No polyester, and no stain-resistant finish, which is the usual hidden chemistry in table linen.
  • They improve with washing. Linen softens rather than degrades, so these are a buy-once item if you treat them gently. Wash cool, line dry, and they will outlast the table.
  • A disclosed cause. Mesa Collections state that a portion of every order goes to Food for the Hungry.
  • Where we would like more. Mesa do not publish the country of manufacture, the napkin dimensions, or any dye and finishing detail, and they hold no textile certification that we can find. Their own sustainability page is candid that this is a work in progress. Natural fibre is a good starting point, but it is not the same as a tested and certified one, and we have scored it that way.

Care Instructions
  • Hand wash with lukewarm water and mild detergent for best results.
  • If machine washing, select the gentlest, shortest cycle at or below 30°C.
  • Wash with like colours. The contrast trims are strong shades and are best kept away from whites for the first few washes.
  • Line dry in shade. Warm iron while slightly damp if you want a crisp fold.
  • Treat food stains promptly with cold water rather than hot, which sets them.

Our Take

Cloth napkins in cotton and French flax linen, sold in pairs, each edged with a contrast trim that does more for a table than the napkin itself. Enough cotton to hold a fold, enough linen to fall softly. The grown-up option for a table that takes itself gently seriously.

Good to know

Frequently asked

How many napkins do I get?

Two. Every colourway is sold as a matching set of 2.

What are they made from?

70% eco cotton and 30% French flax linen, both natural fibres, edged with a contrast trim. No polyester and no stain-resistant chemical finish.

Which colourways can I choose?

Six: Olive Green with cream, Lime with royal blue, Golden Sand with orange, Clear Sky with red, Wood with caramel, and Ivory with black.

How do I wash them?

Hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, or machine wash on the gentlest, shortest cycle at or below 30 degrees. Wash with like colours, since the trims are strong shades, and line dry in the shade.

How do I get food stains out?

Treat them promptly with cold water. Hot water sets most food stains, particularly oil and red wine.

Will they crease?

Yes, and that is the linen behaving normally. Iron them warm while slightly damp if you want a crisp fold for a set table.

How big are they, and where are they made?

Mesa Collections do not publish the dimensions or the country of manufacture for this range, which is why we have scored transparency modestly.
