Room & Linen Spray is all about the scent. A few sprays will refresh your laundry, bed linens, upholstery, curtains, carpets and pillows with Original Fig, a fragrance blending the sweetness of figs with refreshing cranberry and bergamot. It is also the thing that takes the dog smell out of a sofa.
Key Features
- Multi-purpose. A fabric and room freshener in one.
- Non-aerosol fine mist. With no propellant gases.
- Suits soft furnishings. Bed linen, curtains, upholstery, carpets, rugs and pillows.
- Safe on all fabrics. And any surface not harmed by water.
- 300ml. Made in Australia.
Pūrē Standard
- It does the job a candle cannot. Soft furnishings hold smells, and this goes directly onto them rather than perfuming the air above them. Getting the dog out of an upholstered chair is the specific reason we stock it.
- Non-aerosol. A pump mist with no propellant, which is the meaningful difference between this and a supermarket air freshener.
- Where it sits in the range. This is scented with a considered fragrance blend rather than essential oils. That is what makes Original Fig read as fig rather than as a vague sweetness, and it is a fragrance piece rather than an aromatherapy one. We would rather say so than imply otherwise.
- Two preservatives, both named. Phenoxyethanol and benzyl alcohol at low concentration, both widely used in modern low-tox formulation. Murchison-Hume publish the full list, which is more than most fragrance products manage.
- Nothing on the usual list. Free from bleach, ammonia and dyes.
- An honest note on the bottle. It is PET plastic, not glass, which is why this does not carry our Plastic Free tag. PET is widely recycled, but it is still plastic and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Our Take
The genuinely useful job it does is taking the dog smell out of a sofa, which no candle will manage. Two things plainly: it is a fragrance blend rather than essential oils, and the bottle is PET.
