Two small lidded pinch pots for salt and pepper, made to sit out rather than live in a cupboard. You season with your fingers, so you can see exactly how much is going on, which no grinder lets you do. High-fired LFGB-certified ceramic, one sage and one cream.
What You Get
- A pair of lidded pods. One sage, one cream, 150g each.
- 5.8 x 5.8 x 6.2cm. Small enough to leave on the table.
Key Features
- Pinch-sized opening. You can see how much you are using.
- Lidded. Salt stays free-running between meals.
- LFGB-certified ceramic. On ceramic, the glaze is the part worth testing.
- No moving parts. No grinder to jam, no plastic cartridge.
- Not only salt and pepper. Chilli flakes, sumac, dukkah.
Pūrē Standard
- Fired ceramic is inert. Nothing leaches into salt, which is corrosive enough to eat the inside of a cheap grinder.
- No plastic anywhere. Most salt and pepper sets hide an acrylic body or a nylon mechanism. This has neither, and nothing coated on top of the ceramic.
- Certified, which is unusual at this size. For a small table pot, most brands would not bother testing the glaze.
- Refilled forever. It replaces the disposable grinder that gets binned whole when it stops turning.
- Where we would like more. China and the manufacturing partner are named, but no factory audit or labour certification is published.

Care Instructions
- Hand wash. Dishwasher safe, but a matte glaze shows wear sooner.
- Dry thoroughly before refilling. Damp is what clumps salt.
- No abrasives. A soft cloth is enough.
Good to Know
- They are small. A few days of salt, not a month. It is a table pot, not a storage jar.
- There is no grinder. For cracked pepper you still need a mill. These hold what is already ground.
- Each one varies. Handmade, so glaze and the embossed mark differ slightly. Not a fault.

Our Take
Seasoning by hand is the actual upgrade here. You can see how much salt is going on, which a grinder hides completely. They are small on purpose, so treat them as table pots and keep the box in the pantry.

Frequently asked
Do the salt and pepper pods have a grinder?
No, and that is deliberate. They are open pinch pots for salt and already-ground pepper or spices. If you want cracked pepper you still need a mill.
How big are they?
5.8 x 5.8 x 6.2cm each, 150g each, sold as a pair. That holds a few days of salt rather than a month, because it is a table pot and not a storage jar.
Is the ceramic glaze food safe?
Yes. It is LFGB certified, the German food-contact standard, tested more intensively than the FDA equivalent. On ceramic the glaze is the part that matters and most small table pots are not tested at all.
Will salt damage them?
No. Fired ceramic is inert, so salt cannot corrode it. Salt does eat the metal and plastic inside cheap grinders over time, which is part of why they fail.
What colours do they come in?
They are sold as a pair, one sage and one cream, so you can tell salt from pepper at a glance.
Can they go in the dishwasher?
They are dishwasher safe, but the brand recommends hand washing and we pass that on. A matte glaze shows wear sooner than a gloss one.
