Three enamel baking trays in the sizes an oven actually needs, oven safe to 250 degrees with no non-stick coating to scratch or flake. LFGB-certified vitreous enamel on steel, so what browns the vegetables is glass.
Key Features
- Three sizes. 25.5cm, 33cm and 41cm.
- Oven safe to 250 degrees. Hot enough to actually roast.
- No non-stick coating. Nothing to scratch, flake or off-gas.
- LFGB certified, REACH compliant. Lead, cadmium, mercury and chromium VI limits.
- Non-reactive. Lemon, tomato and vinegar do not mark it.
Pūrē Standard
- It replaces non-stick trays. PTFE coatings degrade above 260 degrees, and a baking tray is the thing that sits closest to a 220 degree element.
- Certified, not just described. LFGB is tested harder than the FDA equivalent, and REACH covers the heavy metals. Most enamelware claims neither.
- Two materials, nothing else. Glass fused to steel. No liner, no coating, no composite.
- It ends the baking paper habit. Enamel releases well enough that most trays do not need lining.
- Where we would like more. China is named, but no factory audit, no take-back scheme and no plastic-free packaging claim on this line.

Care Instructions
- Hand wash. The brand recommends it over the dishwasher.
- Wooden or silicone utensils. Metal spatulas and knives chip enamel.
- No temperature shock. Do not put a hot tray straight under cold water.
- Retire one if the steel shows. A chip through to the core ends its food use.

Our Take
A baking tray sits closer to the element than anything else in the kitchen, which makes it the worst possible place for a coating that breaks down with heat. These have none.

Frequently asked
What sizes are the enamel baking trays?
Small is 25.5 x 15.2 x 3cm, medium is 33 x 24 x 3cm and large is 41 x 29 x 3cm. Check the large against your oven before you rely on it.
How hot can enamel baking trays go?
Seed and Sprout rate them to 250 degrees Celsius. They are fridge and freezer safe too, but not microwave safe because of the steel core.
Are enamel trays better than non-stick?
At roasting temperatures, yes. PTFE coatings begin to degrade above about 260 degrees and a tray sits closest to the element. Enamel is glass and has no coating to break down.
Do I still need baking paper?
Usually not. Enamel releases well with a little oil, which is most of the point. Sticky sugar-heavy bakes are the exception.
Can I cut on the tray or use a metal spatula?
No. Metal chips enamel and a chip through to the steel core ends the tray's food use. Wooden or silicone tools only.
Is the enamel safe for food?
It is LFGB certified, the German food-contact standard, and complies with EU REACH including limits on lead, cadmium, mercury and chromium VI. Enamel is glass, so there is nothing to leach.
