Three nesting enamel bowls that mix, bake, store and serve, so the salad does not get decanted into something prettier before it reaches the table. LFGB-certified vitreous enamel on steel, oven, fridge and freezer safe.
Key Features
- 2.2L, 3.1L and 4.2L. Dressing, salad, the whole roast.
- They nest. Three bowls, one bowl of cupboard.
- Oven, fridge, freezer. Not the microwave.
- LFGB certified, REACH compliant. Lead, cadmium, mercury and chromium VI limits.
- Non-reactive. Vinaigrette and marinades will not touch the surface.
Pūrē Standard
- It replaces plastic mixing bowls. Those scratch, hold oil in the scratches and go cloudy. Enamel is glass and does neither.
- Certified, not just described. LFGB is tested harder than the FDA equivalent, and REACH covers the heavy metals. Most enamelware claims neither.
- One object, four jobs. Mix, bake, store, serve. Fewer things bought, fewer things washed.
- Non-reactive with acid. Lemon and vinegar sit in it safely, which steel and aluminium cannot promise.
- Where we would like more. China is named, but no factory audit and no take-back scheme for the enamel range.

Care Instructions
- Hand wash. The brand recommends it over the dishwasher.
- No electric mixer, no metal whisk. Beaters chip enamel. Use a wooden or silicone whisk.
- Pad them when you nest them. A tea towel between bowls stops rim chips.
- Retire one if the steel shows. A chip through to the core ends its food use.

Our Take
Most houses own plastic mixing bowls in a cupboard and a separate set of nice bowls for the table. These do both, which is the whole argument.

Frequently asked
What sizes are in the enamel bowl set?
Three bowls: 2.2 litres at 20.6 x 10cm, 3.1 litres at 23.1 x 11cm and 4.2 litres at 25.6 x 12cm. They nest, so all three take about the cupboard space of the largest.
Can enamel bowls go in the oven?
Yes. Seed and Sprout state oven, fridge and freezer safe. They are not microwave safe, because there is a carbon steel base under the enamel and metal sparks in a microwave.
Can I use an electric mixer in them?
No. Metal beaters and whisks chip enamel, and a chip through to the steel ends the bowl's food use. A wooden spoon or silicone whisk is fine.
Is enamel safe for acidic food?
Yes. The surface is non-reactive, so vinaigrette, lemon and tomato are all fine, which is not true of bare steel or aluminium. The only condition is intact enamel.
Are they dishwasher safe?
They are, but the brand recommends hand washing to protect the finish and we pass that on. No steel wool, no soaking.
Is the enamel safe for food?
It is LFGB certified, the German food-contact standard, and complies with EU REACH including limits on lead, cadmium, mercury and chromium VI. Enamel is glass, so there is nothing to leach.
