Eureka has a strong aroma and is mostly grown for its fresh leaves, though the entire plant is edible. It is a tall-standing type that is slow to bolt, which is the whole point of choosing it: ordinary coriander runs to seed the moment it gets warm and impatient. It can be grown through the warmer months if kept out of direct afternoon sun, but it does best once the weather cools, which makes it perfect for autumn planting in temperate zones. - Read this one first: the seed may be chemically treated. Little Veggie Patch Co state plainly that this is imported seed and may be treated with Thiram, a fungicide seed coating. If you are growing organically or want untreated seed, choose something else. How to Use
- Sow directly. It also transplants well, so raising seedlings and moving them across works fine.
- Spacing, depth and pH. 50cm apart, 0.5 to 1cm deep, soil pH 6.5 to 8.0.
- Soil. Fertile and friable, worked through with compost and organic matter.
- Position. Full sun preferable, part shade manageable. In the warmer months, keep it out of direct afternoon sun.
- Pick the outer leaves regularly. The more you take, the longer it holds off flowering.

Possibly, and Little Veggie Patch Co say so themselves: 'Imported seed; may be treated with Thiram.' Thiram is a fungicide seed coating. If you want untreated or certified organic seed, this is not the packet for you, and we would rather you knew before you bought it than after.
