Pre-order, dispatch date to be confirmed. The oil for the linen cupboard and the wardrobe. Cedarwood is what households reached for long before mothballs, and it is the one oil in this range Urban Sun attach no extra cautions to: warm, dry and woody, sitting in the background rather than announcing itself. Marked 100% organic and pure on the bottle, 15ml of Cedrus Atlantica, bottled in Australia on the Gold Coast.

Key Features
- Single oil, not a blend. Cedrus Atlantica, marked 100% organic and pure on the carton.
- 15ml amber glass. Roughly 300 drops, with an integrated dropper insert.
- Australian owned, bottled on the Gold Coast. Urban Sun are a family-run business, certified Australian owned. The oils themselves are sourced rather than grown here.
- The quiet one. Warm, dry and woody rather than sweet or sharp, so it layers under other scents instead of fighting them.
- No additional cautions. Alone in this range, Urban Sun list no pregnancy or pet warning beyond the standard ones that apply to every essential oil.
- Vegan and cruelty free. Both stated by the brand for this product.
Pūrē Standard
- Why we bought it. A wardrobe or a linen cupboard is exactly where synthetic fragrance hides: mothballs, scented liners, plug-ins. Cedarwood is the traditional answer, it is one ingredient, and you can read the whole label.
- One ingredient, named properly. The botanical name is printed on the bottle. That sounds small, but plenty of oils are sold as just a colour and a mood.
- Amber glass, which matters here. Essential oils degrade in light. Amber glass is not a styling choice, it is what keeps the oil usable.
- The safest oil in the range. Worth being precise rather than generous: this does not make it safe around pets, because no essential oil fully is. It means Urban Sun flag nothing beyond the standard cautions, where they do for lemongrass, peppermint, citronella and ylang ylang.
- Where we would like more. The carton says organic but Urban Sun do not name a certifying body, publish a GC/MS batch report, or state which country the botanical was grown and distilled in before it was bottled here. We have asked. Until they answer, treat organic as the brand's own claim rather than a certification.

How to Use
- In a diffuser. Start with 6 drops and adjust for the size of your room. Urban Sun publish a 6 to 10 drop range for the oils in this range where they give a figure, but not for cedarwood specifically.
- On your skin. Dilute first, at 1 to 3% in a carrier oil such as jojoba or almond. Never apply it neat.
- In the wardrobe. A few drops on a cotton pad or an unfinished wooden block, tucked at the back of a shelf. Refresh it when the scent fades. Keep it off the fabric itself, because undiluted oil stains.
- In the laundry. A drop or two on a wool dryer ball. Not in the drum, and not on the clothes directly.
Safety
- For diffusing and external use only. Do not ingest it.
- Always dilute before applying to skin.
- Keep out of reach of children and animals.
- Pets. Urban Sun flag no specific pet warning for cedarwood, but no diffused essential oil is risk free around cats in particular. Ventilate the room and give the animal a way to leave it.
- Pregnancy. No warning is published for this oil. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your practitioner before using any essential oil.
Good to Know
- The dropper insert is plastic. The bottle and carton are glass and card, but the integrated dripolator is not, so we have not tagged this plastic free.
- It is subtle. If you are used to a synthetic cedar candle, the real oil is drier and much quieter. That is the oil being correct, not weak.
- Not gift boxed. It arrives in its own printed carton, which is handsome, but it is not wrapped.

Our Take
The oil your grandmother's linen press smelled of, and the only one in this range Urban Sun attach no extra warnings to. A few drops on a cotton pad at the back of a wardrobe beats any plastic clip.

Frequently asked
Is this safe to use around pets?
Urban Sun publish no specific pet warning for cedarwood, which makes it the gentlest option in this range. That is not the same as pet safe. No diffused essential oil is fully risk free around cats in particular, so ventilate the room and make sure the animal can leave it. If you want certainty, do not diffuse oils at all.
How do I use it in a wardrobe or linen cupboard?
A few drops on a cotton pad or an unfinished wooden block, tucked at the back of a shelf, and refreshed when the scent fades. Keep the oil off the fabric itself, because undiluted essential oil will stain.
How many drops in a diffuser?
Start with 6 and adjust for the size of your room. Urban Sun publish a 6 to 10 drop range for the oils in this range where they give a figure, though not for cedarwood specifically.
Is it certified organic?
The carton is marked 100% organic and pure, but Urban Sun do not name a certifying body or publish a batch analysis. We have asked. Until they answer, treat organic as the brand's own claim rather than a third party certification.
Can I put it on my skin?
Only diluted, at 1 to 3% in a carrier oil such as jojoba or almond. Never neat, and never ingested.
How long will 15ml last?
Roughly 300 drops. At 6 drops a session that is around 50 uses, so a bottle lasts months rather than weeks.
