Heat alters an oil's chemistry and burns off the lighter top notes first; ultrasonic diffusion uses vibration instead, so what you smell in hour four is what you smelled in minute one. 160ml runs continuously for four hours or more, it shuts itself off when the water is gone, and it cycles through seven LED colours if you want it to. - No flame, no hot surface. This is the specific reason Urban Sun describe it as a safer option around children and pets: there is nothing to knock over and burn, and nothing hot to touch. Worth being precise, because it is the device that is safe rather than whatever you put in it.
- Choose your oils for your household, separately. A diffuser is only as pet-safe as the oil in the tank. Eucalyptus, tea tree, citrus and peppermint are all poorly tolerated by cats in particular, so pick the oil to suit who lives with you, and ventilate the room.
- The auto shut-off is the feature you will actually use. It stops the unit dry-running when the tank empties, which is what kills cheap diffusers and what makes this one safe to leave on overnight.
- Ceramic, not printed plastic. The cover is real ceramic with a matte stone finish, which is why it looks like an object rather than an appliance. The tank inside is BPA free.
