A deep-cleansing plant-based soap made in Hetkinen's own atelier in Finland, from Finnish forest ingredients. Pine Heartwood opens with fresh green pine needles, then cedarwood and pine tar for a warm, smoky heart, with bark and moss underneath. Natural, vegan and biodegradable. Choose the 200ml glass bottle, or the 1L pouch that refills it five times.

- Every allergen named, no parfum catch-all. Hetkinen list limonene, linalool, geraniol, farnesol and benzyl benzoate individually rather than hiding them behind the word parfum. That is unusual anywhere and almost unheard of on an imported product, and it is why Transparency scores 5.
- The forest ingredients are real and specific. Scots pine appears three ways, as leaf oil, bark extract and tar oil, alongside chaga mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) and bilberry root. These are genuinely Finnish forest botanicals rather than a generic pine fragrance.
- A true soap, not a detergent. Potassium oleate and potassium cocoate are saponified plant oils, which is why it cleans deeply without the squeaky stripped feeling of a synthetic surfactant wash.
- Made where it is designed. Hetkinen produce in their own atelier in Finland rather than contracting it out, which is rare at this scale.
- Glass, and refillable. A durable glass bottle that is meant to be kept, with a 1L pouch to refill it five times over. That combination is the reason Packaging scores 5.
- Pine tar is the interesting note. It is what gives the heart its smoky, almost sauna-like warmth, and it is a very Finnish thing to put in a soap. If you find most pine scents thin and air-freshener-ish, this is the opposite.

How to Use
- Wet your hands. Water first, then the soap.
- Lather. Pump a small amount onto your hands and work it in.
- Rinse thoroughly. Use ample water.
- Refilling. Decant from the 1L pouch straight into your empty 200ml bottle.
