MAHŌ's Brulee incense evokes the heart of Saint-Germain, meandering cobblestone footpaths toward a chic Parisian dessert bar: caramelised sugar, creamy coconut, fig and a whisper of bergamot over vetiver and cedar. Either format gives you around 30 hours of burn. Choose the Incense Burner Kit to get started with a minimalist MAHŌ button burner included, or the Refill if you already have a MAHŌ burner.

Pūrē Standard
- A genuinely natural base, which is rarer than it sounds. Woods (sandalwood, agarwood and whitewoods), natural aromatic resin or balsam, and slippery elm bark as the binder. Cheap incense is a bamboo core dipped in fragrance oil. This is not that.
- Honest note on the scent. The fragrance load is up to 10% and can be a blend of synthetic and essential oils depending on the scent. Caramelised sugar is not something that exists as an essential oil. This is a fragrance piece rather than an aromatherapy one, and the Low-Tox score below reflects that rather than pretending otherwise.
- Thirty hours either way. The Kit gives you thirty long sticks, the Refill sixty short ones. Same total burn, so pick the length that suits how you use it.
- Hand made in Fujian. The birthplace of incense sticks, rather than mass-produced elsewhere.
- Recycled paper outer packaging. 100% recyclable, with a glass tube worth keeping.
- Buy the burner once. The refill exists so the kit is a one-time purchase, not a recurring one.

How to Use
- Light and extinguish. Hold the tip over a flame, then blow or fan it out.
- Seat the stick. Return the smouldering stick to your MAHŌ burner.
- For a shorter burn. Break the stick in half.
- Never unattended. Burn in a ventilated room and keep an eye on a lit stick.

What is the difference between the Kit and the Refill?
The Burner Kit is 30 sticks in a glass tube plus a MAHO button burner, and each stick burns about 60 minutes. The Refill is 60 sticks with no burner, and each burns about 30 minutes. Both give you roughly 30 hours in total.
What does Brulee smell like?
A Parisian dessert bar: caramelised sugar, creamy coconut, fig and a whisper of bergamot over vetiver and cedar. Warm and faintly sweet rather than heavy.
What are the sticks made from?
A base of natural woods, sandalwood, agarwood and whitewoods, with a natural aromatic resin or balsam, bound with slippery elm bark powder. No bamboo core, which is why there is no acrid undertone.
Is it scented with essential oils?
Not purely. The fragrance load is up to 10% and can be a blend of synthetic and essential oils, and caramelised sugar does not exist as an essential oil, so we will not call it a pure essential-oil product.
Can I make one last less time?
Yes, break a stick in half. And for a bigger space or a stronger throw, burn more than one.
Is there anything to be careful about?
Never leave burning incense unattended, keep it on a heat-resistant surface away from anything flammable, and out of reach of children and pets. Any incense makes smoke, so ventilate the room. If someone in the house has asthma, this is not the right fragrance format.
