Glass jars with glass lids, not plastic ones, in the soft Oat Milk colourway that matches the rest of the Seed & Sprout glass range. The lids nest and the jars stack, which is the difference between a pantry that stays tidy and one that does not. Sold as a pair in 450ml, 1000ml and 1500ml. The 2000ml is a single jar.

Key Features
  • Borosilicate glass base. With a semi-tempered soda-lime glass lid.
  • LFGB certified and FDA approved silicone seal. Tested twice over.
  • Stain and odour resistant. So last month's turmeric does not linger.
  • Nesting lids, stackable bodies. Space-efficient on a shelf.
  • Dishwasher and fridge safe. Microwave safe with the lid off.
Pūrē Standard
  • Glass lids, which is the whole point. Most "glass" storage sold as low-tox has a plastic lid sitting directly over your food. These do not. The only non-glass part is the silicone seal.
  • The seal is certified twice. LFGB, the German food-contact standard that tests what actually migrates out of the material, plus FDA approval.
  • Base and lid are different glass, and Seed & Sprout say so. Borosilicate base rated to 250°C, semi-tempered soda-lime lid rated to 120°C. That is why the lid comes off in the microwave.
  • Nothing to leach and nothing to shed. No plastic in food contact means no microplastics from scratches or heat.
  • Where we would like more. These are not freezer or oven safe, which the brand states plainly and we would rather repeat than bury. Glass and sudden temperature changes do not mix.

Our Take

Glass lids as well as glass bases, which is the bit almost every other brand gets wrong: no plastic sitting over your food. Not for the freezer or the oven, and Seed & Sprout say so.

Frequently asked

How many jars do I get?

The 450ml, 1000ml and 1500ml sizes are sold as a pair. The 2000ml is a single jar.

Are the lids plastic?

No, and that is the whole point of these. The lids are semi-tempered soda-lime glass and the bases are borosilicate glass. The only non-glass part is the silicone seal, which is LFGB certified and FDA approved.

Can they go in the freezer?

No. Seed & Sprout state they are not safe for the freezer or the oven, and we would rather repeat that than bury it. Avoid sudden temperature changes generally.

Microwave and dishwasher?

Both yes, though the lid must come off in the microwave. The base is rated to 250 degrees and the lid only to 120, which is why.

What size are they?

All jars are 9.5cm in diameter. Heights with the lid on are 9cm for the 450ml, 17cm for the 1000ml, 25.5cm for the 1500ml and 33cm for the 2000ml.

How do I keep them looking new?

Soak with bicarb to shift stuck-on food, stains or odours, and keep strongly pigmented foods off the lids.
