The Detail

Everyday Plant Based Kitchen Cleaner with Essential Oils

Euclove's kitchen spray is a coconut soap base carrying eucalyptus, clove and tea tree oil, built for benchtops, appliances and the general aftermath of cooking. Tough on grease, oil and food stains, and gentle enough that Euclove describe the ingredients as food safe. Choose the 500ml trigger spray, or the 1L refill pouch that fills it twice over.

Choosing your format
  • 500ml Bottle. The trigger spray itself, ready to use. Start here if you do not already have one.
  • 1L Refill Pouch. Double the volume for well under double the price, in a flat pouch made from 100% post-consumer recycled material that uses a fraction of the plastic and freight of two bottles.
Key Features
  • Traditional coconut oil soap base, so it cuts grease rather than just smelling like it did.
  • Eucalyptus and tea tree oil for their antibacterial properties, clove oil for its antifungal properties.
  • Menthol crystals and a trace of camphor oil help keep insects away, which is why it is the spray people reach for when ants find the pantry.
  • Tested on timber, caesarstone, ceramic, granite, marble, laminate and engineered stone.
  • Grey water and septic safe.
  • Palm oil free, and free from ammonia, bleach, synthetic fragrance, SLS, sulphates, phosphates, parabens and optical brighteners.
  • 500ml spray or 1L refill pouch. Made in Melbourne.
Pure Standard
  • It earns its place on the bench. A kitchen spray gets used more than anything else in the house, so it has to actually cut grease. The coconut soap base does that, and it is the reason this one made it in over a dozen prettier bottles.
  • The oils are chosen for function, not scent. Eucalyptus and tea tree bring the antibacterial side, clove brings the antifungal side. The fresh medicinal smell is a by-product of a working formula rather than a fragrance decision.
  • The insect thing is a genuine bonus. Menthol crystals and camphor oil at less than 0.02% naturally deter insects, so wiping the pantry shelves does double duty in summer. Euclove note that for scale, Vicks VapoRub runs around 4% to 5% camphor.
  • Every oil has an address. Eucalyptus and tea tree from New South Wales, clove from Kerala in India, menthol and camphor from India, blended with decyl glucoside made from coconut oil and sugar, in Euclove's own Melbourne factory. Sourcing this specific is why Transparency scores 5.
  • Buy the bottle once. The 1L pouch refills the spray twice, at well under twice the price, and a flat pouch ships far better than two rigid bottles. The bottle itself is 70% post-consumer recycled plastic, made from diverted milk bottles.
  • Grey water and septic safe. Fine on a tank system and fine for garden reuse, which is a genuinely uncommon pair of claims on a product that cuts grease this well.
  • Pets and small children. Euclove call this family and pet safe, and footnote it themselves: cats, dogs and birds vary in their sensitivity to essential oils, so they recommend keeping pets away and ventilating while you clean. We would rather lead with the footnote than bury it. Ventilate, keep pets out while you work, and let surfaces dry before they are back in.

How to Use
  • Shake well before use. Natural ingredients settle, so this matters.
  • Spray directly onto kitchen surfaces and appliances.
  • Wipe thoroughly with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth. Microfibre lifts more particles for the same effort.
  • For insects, spray pantry shelves and entry points regularly.
  • Refilling: decant from the 1L pouch straight into your empty 500ml spray bottle.
  • Spot test any surface not listed above, and ventilate the space while you work.

Our Take

The workhorse spray for benchtops, splashbacks and the aftermath of ambitious cooking. A coconut soap base does the degreasing, eucalyptus and tea tree bring the antibacterial side, and the menthol and camphor quietly deter the ants that find your pantry every summer. Euclove call the ingredients food safe, which matters for the one surface you actually eat off.

Good to know

Frequently asked

What surfaces can I use it on?

Euclove have tested it on timber, caesarstone, ceramic, granite, marble, laminate and engineered stone, plus kitchen appliances and whitegoods. Spot test anything not on that list first.

Will it actually cut grease?

Yes. The base is traditional liquid soap made from coconut oil, which is what does the degreasing work on oil and food stains. The essential oils are there for their antibacterial and antifungal properties rather than for cleaning power.

Does it really keep insects away?

Euclove include menthol crystals and camphor oil specifically to deter insects, and recommend spraying pantry shelves regularly if you get ants. The camphor sits under 0.02%, for scale Vicks VapoRub runs around 4% to 5%.

What is in it?

Coconut oil liquid soap, purified water, eucalyptus and tea tree oil from New South Wales, clove oil from Kerala in India, menthol crystals and camphor oil from India, and decyl glucoside made from coconut oil and sugar. Palm oil free, and free from ammonia, bleach, synthetic fragrance, SLS, sulphates, phosphates and parabens.

Is it safe for septic or grey water systems?

Yes. Euclove formulate the whole range to be safe in modern septic systems and for grey water reuse.

What is the difference between the 500ml and the 1L?

The 500ml is the trigger spray bottle itself. The 1L is a flat refill pouch that fills it twice over for well under twice the price, made from 100% post-consumer recycled material. Buy the bottle once, then refill it.

Any notes for pet owners?

Euclove market this as family and pet safe, with their own footnote that cats, dogs and birds vary in their sensitivity to essential oils. It contains tea tree and clove, so ventilate the space, keep pets away while you clean, and let surfaces dry before they are back in.
