Bathroom
Everyday bathroom rituals, formulated without the chemical fog most labels don't mention.
The Bathroom Edit
A bathroom collects more chemical exposure than any other room in the house, mostly from products used daily, on skin, in a small enclosed space. We look past the "natural" claim on the front of the bottle and check what's actually listed on the back before anything earns a place here. Some formulas still contain a mild synthetic surfactant or preservative. Where they do, we say so plainly on the product page rather than let a green label do the talking for us.
Is everything here fragrance-free? No. Most products are scented with essential oils rather than synthetic fragrance, which is a meaningful difference for sensitive skin, but not the same as unscented. If fragrance-free is a hard requirement, filter by Allergy & Sensitivity, or check the ingredients list on each product page, where anything genuinely fragrance-free is called out.
What does "low-tox" mean on this page, specifically? It means every product has been checked ingredient by ingredient, not just taken on the brand's word. Where a formula includes something worth knowing, like a mild synthetic surfactant instead of a fully plant-derived one, that's disclosed in the Pūrē Standard section on the product page rather than glossed over.
Are these safe to use around kids or pets? Many are, but not all. A handful of hand washes and cleaners in this range use essential oils like tea tree or eucalyptus that aren't suitable around pets. Check the individual product page, or shop the Kids & Pregnancy Safe or Pet Safe collections for a pre-filtered list.
What's the difference between a hand wash and a body wash bar? Mostly packaging and ritual. The bars are soap-free, waterless, and roughly equivalent to three or four bottles of liquid wash. A genuinely lower-waste choice if you don't mind the shift in routine.

Common questions
What makes a bathroom cleaner low tox?
A genuinely low tox bathroom cleaner skips harsh chlorine bleach, synthetic fragrance, ammonia and quaternary ammonium compounds, cleaning instead with plant derived surfactants and essential oils. Every bathroom product we stock is scored against our Pūrē Standard for ingredient safety, so you can shop with the guesswork removed.
Do natural bathroom cleaners actually work on soap scum and mould?
Yes. Plant based bathroom cleaners lift soap scum, limescale and grime effectively, and several of our formulas use botanical oils like tea tree, eucalyptus and clove that have naturally antibacterial and mould inhibiting properties. For established mould, look for our dedicated bathroom and mould sprays.
Are these bathroom products safe for septic tanks and greywater?
Most of our bathroom range is biodegradable and greywater and septic safe, which we note on the individual product pages. Choosing plant based surfactants over petrochemical ones is gentler on your system and the waterways it eventually reaches.
What plastic free bathroom swaps do you recommend?
Refillable glass bottles, concentrate refills, compostable cleaning tools and solid bar soaps are all easy first swaps. Filter this collection by Plastic Free or Refillable to see the options, and consider a refill system to cut single use plastic long term.
Are your bathroom products safe around kids and pets?
Many are, but a few botanical oils like tea tree and clove warrant caution around pets and small children, so we flag this honestly on each product. Filter by Pet Safe or Kids and Pregnancy Safe, and always store cleaning products out of reach.
