Dishwashing
Dish soap, dishwasher detergent, brushes, sponges and scourers.
The Dishwashing Edit
Dish soaps first, then the dishwasher option, then the tools: dish sticks, sponges, scourers, pot scrubbers and gloves. Several brushes here take replacement heads, so the handle stays and only the worn part is composted.
An honest note on the range. We stock exactly one dishwasher detergent at the moment, and we are not going to pretend that is a selection. It is a genuine gap we are working on rather than a curatorial statement.
Why do natural dish soaps foam less? Because foam is mostly theatre. It comes from sulfates added for the sensation of cleaning rather than the fact of it. Plant-based surfactants cut grease with less lather, and you generally need less product.
Is a bamboo brush really better than a plastic sponge? For what ends up in the water, yes. Synthetic sponges shed microplastics down the drain every wash. Natural fibre brushes and cellulose cloths break down, and the ones with replaceable heads last far longer.
What is a dish stick? A solid soap bar in a holder that you wet and rub the brush across. No bottle, no pump, and the refill is simply another bar.
Which of these are foodsafe? The ones that say so, and it is a real formulation difference rather than packaging language. Look for it stated explicitly on the product page.
