The Detail

A sculptural stoneware planter that comes with its own saucer.

Bring a touch of artistry to your greenery. The Pollock is inspired by bold, expressive brushstrokes, with a textured matt finish that feels both modern and timeless. Its sculptural form makes it more than a vessel: it is a statement piece that elevates any indoor space, and it pairs beautifully with lush foliage or minimalist succulents.

Key Features
  • Fired stoneware in a textured matt limestone finish
  • Supplied with a matching gloss saucer, so you are not hunting for one separately
  • 17.5cm external height, 19cm internal diameter
  • Wide opening that suits a full, spreading plant rather than a narrow upright
  • Matt body against a gloss saucer, which is where a lot of its character comes from
Pure Standard
  • Stoneware, not plastic. Potted list the material plainly: stoneware, a dense high fired ceramic. It is inert, it does not off gas, and it will never shed microplastics into your soil or your home. That is the reason we brought the range in.
  • The saucer is the reason this one stayed. A planter that ships with its own matched saucer is the one that actually gets used, instead of sitting empty while you look for something to put under it. Of the Potted shapes we carry, this is the most complete out of the box.
  • Built to outlive the trend. A stoneware pot is a decade long object, not a season long one. The most sustainable planter is the one you never have to replace, and this is the format that gets you there.
  • Worth knowing before you buy. Potted publish the material, the finish and the dimensions, but not the country of manufacture, the glaze composition or the packaging. That is common right across the imported ceramics category rather than particular to this brand, and the Manufacturing Transparency and Packaging scores below reflect it honestly.
  • Where we would like more. A published lead and cadmium free statement on the glaze would take the Materials score to a five.

Care Instructions
  • Empty the saucer after watering so the base is not left standing in water.
  • Wipe with a damp cloth. Skip abrasive cleaners, which will mark the matt body faster than they will the gloss saucer.
  • A matt finish holds fingerprints and dust more than a gloss one. A dry microfibre cloth is usually all it needs.
  • Sit it on felt pads on timber and stone surfaces.
Good to Know
  • The textured matt surface is intentionally uneven, so no two pieces are identical. That is the design, not a defect.
  • Potted do not state whether the planter is drilled with a drainage hole. The matching saucer suggests it is intended to drain, but we would confirm before planting directly into it.

Our Take

A textured matt planter in pale limestone that turns up with its own matching gloss saucer, which is rarer than it has any right to be. The surface is deliberately uneven, so no two pieces are identical. Of the Potted shapes we carry this is the most complete out of the box, and the one least likely to end up balanced on a folded tea towel.

Frequently asked

What is the Pollock planter made from?

Stoneware. The planter has a textured matt finish and the saucer is gloss glazed. Fired clay is inert, so it does not off-gas or shed microplastics into your potting mix.

Does it come with a saucer?

Yes. A matching gloss stoneware saucer is included, which is the main reason this shape stayed in our range.

What size is it?

17.5cm external height and 19cm internal diameter. The wide opening suits a full, spreading plant rather than a narrow upright one.

Does it have a drainage hole?

Potted do not publish drainage detail for the Pollock range. The matching saucer suggests it is intended to drain, but we would confirm with us before planting directly into it rather than using a nursery pot inside.

Why does the surface look uneven?

That is the design. The Pollock takes its cue from expressive brushstrokes, so the textured matt surface varies piece to piece. It is not a defect.

How do I care for it?

Empty the saucer after watering so the base is not left standing in water. A dry microfibre cloth is usually enough, since a matt finish holds fingerprints and dust more than a gloss one, and abrasive cleaners will mark it.
