Cleaning
Cleaning products are used in the highest concentration, most frequently, on the surfaces you touch every day, which is exactly why we are the most particular about what goes in this collection.
The Cleaning Edit
Every cleaner here, sorted by what it is actually for. Some formulas use a more conventional surfactant instead of a fully plant-derived one. Where that is true, it is disclosed in the Pūrē Standard section on the product page, not hidden behind a green label.

What does low-tox actually mean for a cleaning product? It means the formula has been checked ingredient by ingredient against a defined standard, not taken on the brand's marketing claim. That includes undisclosed fragrance, synthetic preservatives and surfactant type, details most labels do not volunteer.
Are these as effective as conventional cleaners? Genuinely, mostly yes. Plant-based surfactants and enzyme formulas have closed most of the performance gap over the last decade. The exception is heavy mould and mineral buildup, where some conventional actives still outperform.
Can I use kitchen cleaners in the bathroom? Most all-purpose and multi-surface cleaners work fine across rooms. The exception is anything marketed as foodsafe, which is a genuine formulation difference for surfaces that touch food, not just packaging language.
Are any of these safe around pets? Not by default. Several use essential oils like tea tree or eucalyptus that are not suitable around cats especially. Filter by Pet Safe or check the product page before using around animals.
Good to know
Common questions
What does low tox cleaning actually mean?
Low tox cleaning means choosing products free from harsh chemicals like chlorine bleach, ammonia, synthetic fragrance and petrochemical surfactants, in favour of plant based, biodegradable formulas. Every cleaning product here is scored against our Pūrē Standard so you can see exactly what you are bringing into your home.
Are natural cleaning products as effective as chemical ones?
Yes. Plant based cleaners lift grease, grime and everyday mess effectively, and many use naturally antibacterial essential oils. The difference is you skip the fumes, residues and irritation that come with conventional chemical cleaners.
Which natural cleaning products should I start with?
A multipurpose or all purpose spray covers most surfaces and is the easiest first swap, followed by a dedicated bathroom cleaner, a floor cleaner and a dish soap. Our curated cleaning sets bundle these essentials together if you want a simple starting point.
Do you stock plastic free and refillable cleaning products?
Yes. Filter by Plastic Free or Refillable to find concentrate refills, refillable glass bottles and compostable cleaning tools that cut single use plastic significantly over time.
Are your cleaning products safe around children and pets?
Many are, though some botanical oils such as tea tree, clove and eucalyptus warrant caution around pets and small children, which we flag honestly on each product. Filter by Pet Safe or Kids and Pregnancy Safe and always store cleaners out of reach.
