Kitchen
The kitchen sees more daily contact than any other room, dish soap on skin, cleaners on the surfaces food touches, sponges that sit damp for a week.
The Kitchen Edit
From dish soap and washing tools through to compost, storage, boards, and the everyday textiles that quietly do a lot of work, this collection covers what a kitchen actually uses, week to week. A few pieces sit slightly outside the ordinary, like our ritual tea and drinkware objects; they're here because a kitchen is also where a lot of small daily rituals happen, not just cleaning.
Are these dish soaps and cleaners safe with food contact surfaces? Yes, everything in the dish soap and kitchen cleaner range is formulated to be food-safe when used and rinsed as directed. Where a product isn't intended for food-contact surfaces (a few of the specialty stainless or glass cleaners), that's noted clearly on the product page.
What's the actual difference between your compost bins? Mostly size and filter type. The charcoal-filter bins are built for benchtop use and control odour actively; the others are designed to be emptied more frequently. Check each product page for capacity before buying.
Why do some wood fibre boards cost more than plastic ones? Wood fibre composite boards are genuinely more durable and don't shed microplastics into food the way ageing plastic boards do, but they do need hand-washing and the occasional oil, unlike a plastic board you can put anywhere. Worth knowing before you buy if you want dishwasher-safe.
Is everything here fragrance-free? No, most cleaners use essential oils rather than synthetic fragrance. If you need genuinely fragrance-free, filter by Allergy & Sensitivity or check the ingredients list on each product page.

Common questions
What should I look for in a natural kitchen cleaner?
For kitchen surfaces that touch food, look for plant based, food safe formulas free from synthetic fragrance, SLS and harsh solvents. Every kitchen product here is rated against our Pūrē Standard, and many use naturally antibacterial essential oils like lemon myrtle, eucalyptus and mandarin.
Are natural dish soaps and surface sprays as effective as conventional ones?
Yes. Plant based dish soaps cut grease using coconut derived surfactants, and our multipurpose kitchen sprays are independently effective on everyday benchtop grime. You get a genuine clean without the residues left by petrochemical cleaners.
Which kitchen products are safe for food preparation areas?
Look for the food safe and multipurpose kitchen cleaners in this collection, several of which are safe to use directly on food prep surfaces and around fruit and vegetables. The individual product pages spell out where each one is safe to use.
How do I make my kitchen more plastic free?
Swap to refillable glass bottles, concentrate refills, compostable dish brushes and cellulose sponges, and plastic free storage like glass jars and stainless steel. Filter by Plastic Free or Refillable to build a lower waste kitchen.
Do you stock low tox kitchen essentials beyond cleaning?
Yes. Alongside dish soap and surface sprays, the Kitchen collection includes glassware, drinkware, storage jars, compost bins, tea towels and food safe utensils, all vetted against our Pūrē Standard for material safety and sustainability.
